Gaga inside! The Lady Gaga concert Live in Manila

Dozens of singers and bands all over the world had come to Manila for an outstanding performance, but not everyone had sold out thousands of tickets as much as crazy trend-maker and singer, Lady Gaga.

For just one month of media advertisement, the club icon has enthralled locals of various ages, emptying their wallets just to see a little bit of Lady Gaga up close and personal.
The live performance took place at Araneta Coliseum on August 11 at 8pm. Surprisingly, the show didn't start on time. An hour had already passed, but no Lady Gaga was on stage. Where is she? What is she doing!?

"Nasaan na si Lady Gaga!?" (Where is Lady Gaga!?) one of the fans yelled. Everyone were in chaos, waiting for their idol to start the show. After a few more minutes, the curtains lifted, and everyone inside shouted like crazy. Most of the crowd wore head gears with disco sticks that colored the interior, while others lifted their mobile phones, swaying on thin air.

The show started with a short video, and not for long, the real thing appeared. Lady Gaga started it all with my favorite song, "Paparazzi", followed by the latest hit, "Love Game". She wore a white blond curly wig (it was a wig, right?) and a sparkling white top that looked like a one-piece swim suit in outer space, but it was lovely. She held a glowing wand that even awed the gay fans (lol).

The first two songs was an outstanding performance, packed with a group of topless black dancers in black tights (now that's just too sexy!) and a jaw-dropping pair: a lead guitar and a drummer. Lady Gaga was very energetic and her voice was bold and very original. I even thought she sang better in live than recorded.

However there were some scenes that pouted a number of the audience. Aside from boring intervals, Lady Gaga threw off vulgar languages, a bad finger and even naughty dancing. The worst part was the last, where she played the piano. It felt like a joke because it was as if she wasn't taking her song seriously. She was just tapping the keys and sat on the piano seat like a cat. While singing the acoustic version of "Poker Face", she showed another series of sexual moves, even taking off her vest that left only a light pink bra and a bikini making her look like a naked lunatic pianist on stage. In fact, she didn't even seem to be performing live, she looked like she was a piano teacher, while the crowd was her pupils.

Overall, Lady Gaga's performance was not worth the sold out. It was her costumes, lighting effects and dance performance that made the show. The dirty scenes failed to impress a part of the crowd. I am quite disappointed with the show, but maybe if she takes off the filthy stuff, the concert would be a blast.
I wouldn't deny that Lady Gaga is a unique performer. In fact, her showmanship (on the first parts) even inspired a singer like me. The next time she comes back to Manila, I guess it would be better to save my money for another show, or see a movie perhaps with more of my friends. :-)
