Save the wedding

The night was young, and a girl was spotted on the street, walking alone. She turned her head to the bricked floor of Kowloon City when suddenly, a fancy black sports car stopped by next to her.

The shiny door opened, showing off a handsome young man who looked at her with a hypnotizing stare. He seemed to be Chinese.

"Chedie, what are you doing alone in the middle of the night?"

The girl looked back, offering a blank face.
"H..Huang!? What are you doing here?"

8pm, spotted in Pacific Coffee at Victoria Peak, Hong Kong.

Huang Xiao Ming gently placed the iced lattes on the small wooden table that was displayed next to the huge window. He sat down and waited for his friend, Chedie who shortly took the seat in front of him. The curly-haired girl sipped the drink the man gave her and smiled.

"Thanks for the latte, Huang,"
"It's your favorite, right?" the young man answered with another stunning smile.

Chedie chuckled. She couldn't believe Huang never forgot her coffee of choice. In fact, this guy almost memorized her best friend's likes and dislikes. Chedie thought this was the type of guy Chloe always wanted. And she was happy for both of them.

"Tomorrow's the wedding...you should be very excited," the curly-haired spoke.

"Yes, of course. And thanks to you; none of these things would have happened."

Huang looked at the window, just playing with his thoughts. It was gonna be a great day for him and Chloe; that's for sure. But as he turned back at Chedie, he noticed her change her facial expression.

"Something wrong?"

"No..n-nothing," the girl answered.

Huang dropped Chedie at her flat. As the curly-haired stepped out of the car, she smiled and waved goodbye to him.

"Don't worry about him Chedie," Huang advised. "He loves you. Just believe."

Although the girl never really thought so, she just simpered to ease out. Huang drove away and in seconds, the car was gone. Chedie continued to walk. She noticed the music store nearby that seemed to be alive with K-pop songs. The music sounded familiar, drawing her in curosity. She went inside and saw Takeshi wearing a huge headset while listening to her favorite band, 2NE1. The man kept his eyes shut, obviously feeling the rhythm of the music.

Unfortunately, this didn't impress Chedie.

"So you've been here all day!?" she questioned disappointedly.

Surprised, Takeshi accidentally dropped the CD he was listening to. The case broke.

"Chedie, I was just..!"
"Don't you even remember what day it is?"
"It's the 12th of September,"

Chedie gasped in anger. Without hesitation, she stepped out of the shop. Takeshi tried to follow her but the saleslady pulled him back inside.

"Before you leave, you're gonna have to pay for that piece, mister!"

September 13th, the wedding day at The Peninsula Hotel.

Guests wore different styles of wardrobes, all in the same color--red. It was Chloe's favorite hue, and undoubtfully, it blended its elegance with the beauty of the place. The bride was more than happy, but her joy looked more like a child who finally had her candy.

"Congratulations, my best friend," Chedie commented.
"Hey, no prob!" Chloe replied and laughed like a kid. Not later, Huang arrived.

"I'll go check out my sis," Chloe stated. Now it was only Huang and Chedie, alone at the balcony.

"Where is Kaneshiro?"

Chedie's smile instantly vanished.
"He never came, Huang. He never came...even on my birthday!" the girl cried and ran downstairs.

Chloe walked outside the hotel, looking for someone. Not later, she saw Takeshi on the sidewalk, sitting on the floor like a clueless beggar. The bride laughed crazily, asking "What are you doing there!? Chedie is waiting for you inside!"

"I don't even think I deserve to see her, Chloe," Kaneshiro dramatically quoted.

"Stupid! Don't be immature! Now get up and face her like a man!"

But as Takeshi stood up, he saw Chedie, already standing before him. Chloe gasped. "Oooooh, no...big trouble!" She said and quickly lifted her dress and traipsed away.

Upon seeing the panicking man, Chedie only gripped her fists and gnashed her teeth. She turned back and tried to walk away.

"Stop!" Takeshi exclaimed.

"What were you thinking, Chedie...Everything was supposed to be a plan."
"What plan!?" the curly-haired raised her voice.

"I knew it was your birthday yesterday. I intentionally pretended to forget it, because I had a plan,"

"Well your plan's not working out right!" Chedie sarcastically replied.

Suddenly, there was snow. The skies brightened in deep mystery, and their clothes changed. The streets were suddenly emptied, and snow was all over.

"What's going on!?" the curly-haired panicked.

"Don't be afraid, Chedie. Everything is just the way it's supposed to be," Takeshi spoke softly. Not later he opened his hand, and in it was a box that seemed to be a container of something worth dying for.

It was a diamond ring.
A heartshaped 14-karat white gold ring lined with diamonds and a sapphire in the middle to be exact.

And Chedie was speechless.

"Oh, and not to forget...your favorite 2NE1 CD you've always wanted," Takeshi added. He tried to make sure it was indeed the 2NE1 CD, but he couldn't read it well.

"You forgot your glasses, Takeshi..." Chedie handed him his eyeglasses and in a split second she ran towards him and hugged him tight.

"I'm so sorry, Takeshi!" the curly-haired apologized, crying.
"Come on...it's okay," the young man replied.

"But before this story ends," Takeshi added. He stared back at the beautiful young lady and gently stroke her cheeks.

"Will you marry me?"

Chedie went speechless. Although she knew her answer, she left him with a smile that even brought him back to a cheerful heart.
