The Way to Live
One Christian song goes with a repetitive line that states, "to worship you, I live..."
Let's face the fact: the world we are living in is death. We have to work to get money, buy food and basic necessities to survive physically. We need our families and friends to support our emotional needs. We depend on leisure to maintain health, happiness and somehow, contentment in our lives.
But all these things, knowing that they all come from the world; will fail us.
We get fired.
We don't receive the expected salary we want.
The boss is a pain in the ass.
Our colleagues betray us.
Our families lack time for us.
Our parents demand something from us that we cannot give.
There are broken families.
Our 'friends' gossip us.
Our friends tend to neglect us.
Our lovers disappoint us; and they tear us apart.
They ALL tear us apart.
Recreation won't even help you all the time.
You get weary. Then you look for something else to satisfy that hunger in you.
You waste money, look for sexual pleasure, you take on drugs and liquor. You kill time and yourself with stupid things.
Then you go home empty.
Empty wallet,
empty soul,
empty heart.
We lose heart. Our souls die.
Put down your pride and listen: only God revives them.
That's why when we worship Him, we become forgiven; grace is upon us, we are enlightened.
To worship Him, we will live.
When we start believing, we are set free.

very true. you can never count on what the world offers. might feel good for a while, but was it really worth it?

ReplyDeleteIf someone prays for patience, you think God gives them patience? Or does he give them the opportunity to be patient? If someone prayed for courage, does God give him courage, or does he give him opportunities to be courageous? If someone prayed for the family to be closer, do you think God zaps them with warm fuzzy feelings, or does he give them opportunities to love each other?
