First time in a casino?

Slot machines, poker and what have you...All these cash-hooking games are a millionaire's money-burning arcade. I only saw these silly things on TV, and heard it from naughty friends who loved to hit the night for some wild entertainment, but I never dared to enter it because I knew it would cost my life--literally!

But that legalistic thought ended suddenly in a Friday morning--and little did I know that I myself would enter such a sinful place! It was 9am when I commuted to Manila for a job interview at a Casino called "Resorts World", somewhere in Pasay. Wearing a grayish-brown blazer and skirt and black heels, I carefully walked in at the recruitment office at Star Cruises building to get a chance of becoming their loyal employee. Unexpectedly it didn't end well--there were a number of applicants and the management was slow and unorganized. The receptionist even had me waiting until 12 noon and told me to take lunch first and come back at 2 in the afternoon!

Well, thanks to the ground floor receptionist who gave me a free membership card to the casino. At least there was something to do while waiting for my turn for the interview. He gave me a temporary copy and told me to go straight to the casino entrance to claim my official card, and so I did.

While on my way to the casino, my thoughts played swiftly. I was thinking of bright colors, sounds of overflowing money from slot machines, people laughing and a row of fancy costumes. As I entered I almost saw the same image. Only that it were only a few people inside, because it was an afternoon.

My eyes dazzled at the colorful neon lights that decorated the ceiling, walls and tables. There was a white luxury car on the right side, and a huge stage on the center where a jazz band played fantastic songs (although I had to admit, the vocalist wasn't that good, haha!) Upon claiming my membership card, I was surprisingly entitled for a free game at the slot machines and a ticket to a lunch buffet!

As a first-timer, I excitedly proceeded to hit a game at the slot machines. There I met Kla, a poker game dealer who assisted me with the game. She kinda laughed upon learning that I was a newbie. After a few moments at the arcades I met some more friendly staff who served at the bars and restaurants. My favorite part was at the Mercado restaurant where I met Chef Dwight, and assistant Manager Paul, who introduced me to the tastiest dishes there. I feasted on a lot of food, and yes, I ate like a hungry beggar!

It wasn't long until I had to return to the boring recruitment office to continue my interview. Even though the formal meeting at Star Cruises building wasn't as expected, my first time at a crazy casino was an overwhelming experience!
