Fire

Why does it bother me now
When I see a picture of you in my mind
And a thousand words come across to call out your name--
Your funny name
I don't even suppose you would be the one
to grab my heart
But your act made my thoughts wonder

Why does it bother me
When out of a playful night
Your name yelled out
And your wide arms gently
enveloped my tiny shoulder
As you randomly treated the woman like your own
And almost called her a sweetheart

Why does it even have to bother me now
When I should tell myself your stare
didn't mean a thing
And that touch was just a crop of temptation
out of a curious taste of sensuality

I was proud to say I needed no one
And free to linger in paradise
Until you came out of an uninvited romance
And provoked me to play with fire.
