Why?

As tonight ends
I want to reflect from the heavens
Ask Him a handful of questions
Questions that state one motive--


On why you have to be that blunt
with the depth of my curiosity
Why you have to share an oblique opportunity
of being with you..or simply just beside you


If I would have the chance to reveal my heart's cry
Would you open your mind and welcome it?
Or would you let it shed into ashes of failure..


It's funny --after seven years of our friendship
You suddenly offered a hostile beginning
In which I could hardly conceive
Was it my unchanging beauty that tickled your 
withered heart


..or probably a reminder of you seeking a foreign 
soul..


But if I'm going to close my eyes and try to let you go
I want to send you the message that it's not because I don't want you--


Truth be told it's you I want to hold on to forever
But if He decides a 'no'; I have not a word to battle against


Yet it's good to see you again
And perhaps witness the deeper side of your entity
in His kingdom.
