The benefits of learning English
I
believe knowing English is not enough. We need to live it. That means
we have to use it at least on a daily basis. Most of us learned this
language in school, and some, sadly, don't apply it after getting our
diplomas---that's because we assume we won't use it in the future.
As
most of us know, English nowadays has become an asset to different
kinds of people. So what are the benefits we get from studying the
language? Here are some facts:
It
helps us communicate with foreigners. One
of the easiest ways to talk with people who don't speak our dialect
is through English. Whether it be at work, in school, or simply
traveling the world, being good at English makes us confident enough
to talk with these fellows.
It
boosts our confidence. Being
able to speak fluently in English promotes our dignity in every
aspect, especially when socializing with people. It helps us express ourselves more easily, and it also helps us meet more friends in an
extraordinary way.
It
is a door to our promotion. In
the corporate world, skills and attitude are the essential steps to
take us to the next level. But whether we like it or not, English
fluency still makes a big difference. Having an advantage in this
aspect gets our boss' attention and gives us an access to business
travel and other exciting opportunities.
There
are more possibilities to mention in mastering English, but it all
boils up to one thing---English is powerful. And when you achieve
that power, it can take you to places.
So what are you waiting for?
It's time to energize that fluency level---build it up with more
practice and application. Don't worry, it's never too late!
